PICA, the first producer of activated carbon with BPF certification

Following a complete audit in May 2008, the AFSSAPS (French Agency of Sanitary Security and Health Products: Agence Française de Sécurité Sanitaire des Produits de Santé) awarded PICA the BPF certificate, certifying that PICA employs Good Manufacturing Practices.

PICA, which is the first European producer of activated carbon to be awarded this certification, is well known for being among the most demanding in terms of rigorous standards in the health field.

It concerns the range of products designed and manufactured by PICA for medicinal applications for both human and veterinary use: activated carbon of the PICACTIF MEDICINAL range, produced in its Vierzon plant (Cher, France).

The AFSSAPS is the competent French authority which inspects and qualifies manufacturers of active substances who should apply the principles of the European Good Manufacturing Practices. These principles satisfy the GMP recommendations of the WHO.

Obtaining this certification is proof of PICA's know-how and the high quality of its products.
